rgb:Reactor

What is it?
rgb:Reactor is a prototype and artwork that is a platform for our experiments with lighting and control systems. Combining our own information processing designs with multimodal sensory inputs attached to our software system, the work is at once manipulated and reactive: the giant pixels present their view of a situation. The driving metaphor is the representational digital display, exploded to macroscopic proportions.

This is what happens when pixels cannot be used to represent images.

Explore some of our media and let us know if you have any questions or requests. We are gearing up to exhibit rgb:Reactor more frequently, so if you have a suggestion of where to show it, let us know!

>> 9/6/03 @ the Knitting Factory
The premiere exhibition of rgb:Reactor was at Aviate's party MOVE at the Knitting Factory on September 6, 2003. The event was a resounding success! We had a great time playing to the beats and tweaking our code as the evening passed. Family and friends came to show their support, and many friendly partygoers encouraged us too. See the Media section for images and video.
